10 am to 4 pm, cost $20 per adult, kids under 12 free.

A hands-on introduction to traditional ways of gathering and preparing useful native Sonoran desert plants and other materials, with Danny August and Rick Hubbs. Plant dyes and watercolors; yucca soap, shampoo, cordage and paintbrushes; mesquite bean, prickly pear and other foods. Upcoming native arts classes, workshops and field trips will be scheduled throughout the year.
